This Past Week

This last week went OK, still playing low levels on Cake Poker. Think i made $100 or so. It definitely is a good place to build a bank roll. You have to be prepared for the bad beats, for example raising 5X the BB with AA twice and losing both times. Ironically both times the guy had 89os, he hit a straight once and two pair once.

I should have paid better attention. It is hard to throw away AA yes, but if you get check raised all in, something is up.

Best played hand. Had 85 suited in the BB. Flop Hits 532 I check it is bet 4 callers, i raise. 4 callers. I knew what had 3 had an A one a 4. Kept betting, kept getting called, I actually won the pot against 4 callers with a pair of 5's weak kicker.

Have a live tournament this weekend, cashed in my last two, will write more after this.

Bank Roll
Cake $370
Fulltilt $152
RackBrain $40

Keep my live game bankroll seperate for now.

Almost a year........

In the last year it is clear that I have become a better/ more serious player. I have had my ups and downs but I have played a lot more. In my live games I have been doing much better and on-line I have switched to CAKE poker, which has some of the easy competition one could imagine.

This blog is for me more than anyone else, if people read it fine, but I will right at least twice a week from her on to track my progress. If I want to be better I need to understand where I have come from, how I am progressing.

Currently: Cake Poker $256
live games $125
Rakeback $30
Full Tilt $156

My goal is to discuss my best and worst hands and take it from there.
Hopefully I can get some real advice if anyone is out there.

Going Bad

Alright haven't written because my luck/skill has had some serious problems. First played in a tournament put money money all in QQ vs AK suited. A slight favorite, but didn't expect 2345 to flop. Could have lived with an A or K, but that just sucked.

When on tilt lost my full tilt money as well. These people call and chase everything, when playing I really need to remember that. One memorable hand was an AJ all in preflop bet against someone who called everything. This went all in 3 hands in a row before that, I was sick of him sucking out so I put him all in. Sure enough he calls with J10 off suit. First card out 10. I almost broke my hand punching the wall, so be it. It isn't even the money, its the princible.

Also lost about two weeks ago knocked out of a tournament two pair vs a real weird straight.

Got a game tomorrow, so far my losses since starting this blog are

$75 Full Tilt
$40 home games

(-115.00)

Think I will live.

TODAY I START

With about $100 in my full tilt account, today I will start my poker blog. I have a political blog as well, but this will not discuss that. My goal is to document my poker "career" (I do not expect to make a living rather a little extra side money).

Hopeful, I will get some readers who can offer some advice along the way. I also hope to see any mistakes or patterns that will make me more profitable. So here goes.

Right now I am begining at the bottom. I am playing .05-.10 game to build a bank roll. I also play a monthly tournament with about 18 people.

I hope I will be writing this next year, time will tell.

Wish me luck.
